TORPEDO MACULOPATHY
Short description of the case /Breve descrição do caso
Torpedo maculopathy (TM) is an oval-shaped, congenital, chorioretinal lesion in the temporal macula, that it's etiology is unknown. The clinical features of this lesion include hypopigmented lesion located temporal to the fovea that is horizontally oval or spindle-shaped. There are no known associated congenital, systemic, or ocular abnormalities. In OCT, normal inner retinal structures but loss of the ellipsoid zone, and thinning of the outer nuclear layer. Diagnosis is based upon recognition of its characteristic shape and location. Although TM is in general a benign, there is an associated risk of choroidal neovascular membrane formation. We present a case of TM, that presented a neovascular membrane with good response of Ranibizumab. The FAF, Retinography and OCT findings are shown in the case. [1] [2].
