MANAGEMENT OF A COMPLEX RETINAL DETACHMENT DUE TO PROLIFERATIVE VITREORETINOPATHY

Abstracts

Female presenting a complex retinal detachment due to an advanced proliferative vitreoretinopathy. She underwent a scleral buckle followed by vitrectomy, given the extension of the proliferations and the close funnel appearence. After outer membrane peeling, ILM remained adhered which was later removed. Extension of ERM peel proceeded as well as removal of as much PVR as possible. Sub retinal fluid was drained through a slight retinal break, followed by air fluid exchange laser and oil infusion.
