TRACTION RETINAL DETACHMENT REPAIR : STEP BY STEP

Abstracts

Male patient with poorly controlled diabetes presenting a severe traction retinal detachment. On exam vision was 20/400 and the patient was found to have extensive fibrous membranes throughout vascular arcades leading to a detachment of the retina underneath them, as well as evolving the macula. Vitrectomy was performed via the inside-out technique which is demonstrated in a step-wise fashion until its outcome results. Anatomical and functional success are achieved with current 20/60 vision.
