HOW TO CONVERT YOUR CONVENCIONAL FLUID INFUSION INTO A VISCOUS FLUID INFUSION (VFI) ?

Abstracts

The high pressure of silicone oil result in ejection of the metallic tip from the convencional infusion line. The reinforcement of the conventional infusion to a VFI infusion was made with 2 nylon clamps. The reinforced 23G infusion stand the 1000 and 5000 centistokes (cS) silicone oil under maximum Visco Fluid Control (VFC) pressure of 80psi , without any leakage or complication. To the best of our knowledge this is the first report to reinforce a convencional BSS fluid line into a VFI infusion.
