UNUSUAL INTRAOCULAR FOREIGN BODY AFTER PERFORATING INJURY: 9 CILIA EMBEDDED IN THE RETINA
Intraocular cilia is extremely rare and its occurrence posteriorly is even more uncommon. We report the case of a man presented at the emergency room after ocular perforating trauma. The patient underwent to a corneal suture and extracapsular extraction of the damaged lens. Posteriorly, fundus examination revealed eyelashes embedded in the retina. Posterior vitrectomy and removal of IOFB was performed. Nine cilia were removed. Follou-up was satisfatory with patient regaining 20/25 vision.
